Navajo Indian Rug
« on: November 11, 2010, 03:53:06 pm »
Surveyed a rug/blanket today for a general cleanup. Custy had it for 25 years and estimates it is around 90 years old, and could be worth 2000 dollars. He was maybe looking to get it repaired. A couple of bullet holes and rips in it, , and dye has ranbut the wife is very fond of it. Does anyone know who does this kind of repair?

These are specialist rugs. Although repair is a straightforward flatweave. I don't know your part of the country but I would approach a local rug specialist about trade work. Whatever you do don't try and clean it yourself.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
