Ryton Comprehensive are looking to appoint a Contractor to undertake a
sustainable fully managed cleaning service at the premises in Gateshead to
assist us to achieve the Sustainable Community Strategy aspect of Vision
2030.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope
Ryton Comprehensive is an 11 to 18 co-educational school in the Gateshead
Borough with 1 300 students. The standard intake for each year group is
215 students. Ryton Comprehensive has an excellent reputation in the area
and the school is over-subscribed. An up to date plan of the school has
been provided as part of this ITT.
Ryton Comprehensive are looking to appoint a Contractor to undertake a
sustainable fully managed cleaning service at the premises in Gateshead to
assist us to achieve the Sustainable Community Strategy aspect of Vision
2030.
During 2009-2010 the Council has been conducting a review of education in
the West of Gateshead and this resulted in cabinet agreeing to the formal
closure of Hookergate School in August 2011. From September 2011 Ryton
Comprehensive will be in a transition phase as the two schools merge. This
is likely to impact significantly on the footprint of the school as
capacity is added pending a decision on a new school building and/or site.
The successful Contractor may be required to carry out work in additional
buildings to accommodate this change during the contract period.

The result of the independent financial evaluation will provide a
recommended contract limit. In order to pass the financial evaluation, the
result of the financial evaluation must indicate that your organisation
has been assessed as being able to deliver contracts with a recommended
contract limit either equal to or above the estimated value of the
contract.
The approximate date appraisals will be undertaken will be between
23.12.2010 to 7.1.2011.
Minimum level(s) of standards possibly required The Council will use the
services of an independent third party to assess your financial
standing/appraisal, on a pass/fail basis. This appraisal will be based on
a contract limit of 120 000 GBP.
Applicants who do not meet the minimum threshold stated above will not be
considered.
