hi everyone , i am trying to set up a oven cleaning business , but its a bloody minefield lol . N ow my question is , which does the better job , a steam cleaner or a dip-tray , chemicals etc . bearing in mind i dont have a lot for investment so it wouldnt be a really expensive steam cleaner ......Any advice would be appreciated .......Thanks

I use a dip tank with 100% success....

If someone could show me that steam cleaning is quicker, easier and leaves the oven cleaner, I'd jump at the chance to change tactics....

Perhaps you should try to get out and about with someone who uses both methods....

Hi Mark
We have been oven cleaning for about 3 months now using a dip tank system and elbow grease. The dip tank does your racks and trays but its a scraper and scourer job on the oven itself. I can see a steamer possibly being useful on the oven but I feel you would be taking longer on the racks without a dip tank. I would recommend buying the dip tank and then if you want to try the steamer method, hire one for the day - if it works then buy one when you've cleaned a few ovens!
Regards
Tim

Mark i still believe there is plenty of scope in the northwest for oven cleaning. I dont think joe public is has aware of the service compared to the south west / south east / midlands. so the more people adverting whilst still in its infancy, the more the public are aware of this unique service. Got to try to be in there soon. im hoping to be up and running in the next few months, with a massive marketing push. pity it looks like i will probably miss the christmas period. but will be well advertised come spring clean time.

Good look on your venture (remember marketing costs you could be the best oven cleaner out there but if people are not aware you get no clients )
