Rita coming tonight
« on: September 24, 2005, 04:39:25 am »
We are expecting very large storm tonight (Friday- early Sat)

The eye of Rita will hit much farther south and a bit east but we are expecting very high winds and lots of rain.

With me living up on a cliff area;we expect damage very possible.

Am prepared;will let you all know how it turns out.

This entire area has a ton of people from the Southern section of Texas.

Major highways very busy today; full.

No window cleaning for a couple of days.

Hope for the best.

Hugs,

Texas Girl :-*

Can't wait to watch it on tv!

Yeah, I agree, isn't the harrowing plight of innocent people being slaughtered by the thousands entertaining.

Oh what joy the tsunami must have been for you.

Maybe you should think about engaging your brain first before you post...tut tut.

Keep safe, the path has changed a bit.  My girlfriend lives in Houston, which thankfully seems to be a lesser risk than previously thought.  My avatar is a picture taken a couple of months back in Galveston, which is a nice place.

I haven't seen anything on this thread to moderate you on Graham, and I read the first reply you did in the way you intended it to be read, and not in the ghoulish way Gringo interpreted it.

This thread isn't really window cleaning related, but it does affect Debbie, so it won't be locked until we all see what develops.

I haven't seen anything on this thread to moderate you on Graham,

Guess why?

Graham, I really do suggest you behave for a little while.

Debbie, good luck.  I hope it's not too bad.

and that goes to all in the area of Rita
West Somerset. On the edge of the Quantocks and looking at The Exmoor National Park.

Graham & Ian,
You 2 obviously deserve each other, so may I be so bold as to suggest you both take the next available flight out to Louisiana to survey the devastation and misery first hand.

Update;

Thank goodness the path of the storm changed a good bit.

Never can tell about mother nature; thanks for the kind words;

I understand what you meant Graham; the sensationalism of the storm was almost like a sporting event. No offense taken.

How you stated it could be interpreted in another way; but I have read enough of your posts to know that you are not evil.

Weird? maybe (only kidding; really :-*) We are all weird in our own ways. :-* ;D That's because we are HUMAN BEINGS!

I do not think anyone on this forum would be entertained by watching people get hurt  or property destroyed.

Gringo; there has been a lot of loss in Louisianna; imagine beginning your home town from scratch again.

I have never been to Louissiana but I know that New Orleans had a large poverty area.

My hope is that the people that had nothing going for themselves will have a fresh start in life whether it be in Louissiana or wherever.

The government is providing lots of assistance. Thanks Ian for tolerating this post. You do a good job. Especially for the pay! :o

Again; thanks for the support. We all have to stick together. "The party is at Debbie's house".

Hugs,

Debbie :-*

Texas Girl,
Good to see you made it out unscathed. Having family out there myself has made it all the more worrying.  It does seem as though since the Tsunami last December the ferocity of the global weather system has become more frequent and a lot more severe. Hopefully thats the worse over with.

Just a short note to Graham. Are you aware that resorting to four letter name calling belies a lack of education and more significantly intelligence ? pmsl..
