I am setting up a shed and my Ibc in this shed at the end of the garden. Will need a run of about 15m.

Will using 15 mtrs of MDPE be ok, and not lose pressure?
Would I run this off the cold kitchen pipe, or somewhere else?

Any help would be appreciated as dont know where to turn.

Also sorry for my only contribution to the forum in the last 6 months be asking for help. Been moving etc etc.

few questions

what is the mains pressure like at ur house

where is the main stop tap  the same side of tank or other side of house


do u have a outside tap

I have a outside tap, Was going to use this exit and run the Mdpe from this. Pressure about 50 psi. was going to bury at about 600mm, cant go deeper through fear of hitting dog graves lol.

not sure on stop clock.

Cant bring shed closer, is a old solid one at bottom of garden.

My ibc is in my summer house over 100ft away from my outside tap and i fill it with a normal hose reel. If they forecast frost i reel it in and bring it indoors.

I agree with Luther, keep it simple and just connect a hosepipe to outside tap.

use a hose pipe like  everyone else,  as u need to be between 700-1300 down for frost,  mpde is no good if you are doing off ur tap out side  u need at attach to the mains coming in to get good pressure off it

I was under the impression that the kitchen cold in the house im using is straight from mains. Surely going from that pipe would be the same. I was not going to attach it to the actual tap. Was going to remove this and use where it come off the kitchen pipe from.

Cant have a hose across the garden, and wanted the Ro and setup to produce automatically.

u might lose some pressure as the blue pipe is thicker then drops down to 15 m and then u want to make it big again,  it is a bit like a blockage,  all depends on what the pressure coming in is,  u could do all this and find out there isnt enough pressure to make it work, and end up having to use a hose pipe

Just thought having something permanent would allow my auto filling and also would have a lot more chance (mdpe) of keeping the pressure than a hose pipe.

its my nans house, She dont want a hose across the garden, and as above want something that will auto fill and not need messing about with.

The IBC will need insulation and heat, elecy is best.

Yeah, the shed is already wired up for power. Nice thick walls. Not your usual shed.
Just need to sort out water supply.

Hi Blue Monkey,
Sorry to ask a stupid question, but why would having a slightly smaller pipe of 15mm reduce the pressure of the water at the other side which you refer to as 'a bit like a blockage.' Surely the pressure of the water at static would remain the same so this 'blockage would restrict or reduce water flow. My 450g RO wouldn't consume enough water at that distance to make much difference to the pressure, although a much larger RO probably would, but that would apply just the same as if he connected it directly to the back tap.

If its going to be an Igloo dont forget to strengthen and insulate the floor. raising the roof is something i used to do a long time ago ! good luck

The floor is solid. Was built by my great grandad about 20 years ago. Not a single bit of rot, Warm inside. Well needs a new door.

Going to have a little heater in there for nights etc, all lights. Look forward to getting it sorted!
