« on: October 29, 2010, 05:07:59 pm »
do you guys add a skip cost on to your quote for big mossy block paving cleans?  can you put wet sludge in a skip?  im quoting a big job and there will be at least half a ton of sludge. what do you do with it?

Sweep it into piles. Allow time for the water to run off.

Take a wheelbarrow and shovel, collect it up and spread it on the borders!!!!

Had a tonne off a job last week. Did exactly that!!

Get a pair of trousers with large pockets, cut holes in the pockets and discreetly spread it around the camp - don't let the Germans see you do it though  ;)

I give you full permission to come into Stoke on Trent every day and give it a right good old clean up!!!! ;D. I spend all of my time a long way away from Stoke on Trent and am fortunate that I live in the extreme suburbs!!

Personally I would get a skip and charge it at cost unless I could get several pairs of trousers with large pockets, fill them and leave them out for the charity collectors  ::)

Why would I want to pay £150 for a license? Is the wet sand and moss I produce when say cleaning a drive classed as building waste? Demolition waste? Controlled material? And besides I'm only talking the odd job every year that produces to much waste to dispose of within the customers property!!!!

who are you anyway???
The waste police??

Because thats what professional companys do,  the customer with any sense will insist you have a licence because they get fined not you. If what you do now suits you then I see no reason for you to do anything differently. You do not need a licence if you get a skip but you can provide the waste note with the invoice - which is the professional thing to do. I'm sorry you were offended by my professionalism ;D ;D ;D
