wfp newbie here ... whats the difference between flocked and not flocked ?

what brush would you suggest for everyday use with the odd first clean ?

looking at gardiners they seem to be used by loads on here

I use both the flocked dual trim splayed and also use the non flocked dual trim on another pole. Both work great, getting into corners etc., but my preference is the flocked one.
I just like the extra water it holds. I started with Vikan flocked brushes and the flocked superlite works just as well.
I rinse off the glass so if it retains more muck than the non flocked then it doesn't effect the clean anyway.

On the other hand I prefer the DT/non flocked..just feel better on the glass for me...

Non flocked or monofilament brush..........each bristle consists of what looks like a piece of fishing nylon cut dead at the end. Its no more than that, a nylon filament cut straight.

A flocked trim brush.........the same piece of nylon filament instead of looking like its been cut straight across, it is splayed, split into lots of tiny pieces or you could ever describe it as 'frayed'.
