What time do you start
« on: September 23, 2005, 02:54:40 pm »
If like me you do mostly domestic .what time do you start in the mornings.I never get to a domestic before 9.00 a.m.
Do you think it would be easier to start earlier now i am using wfp as i am no longer clanking ladders and my face is not going to be seen outside bedroom windows anymore .
do you think wfp will make a differance with early starts.

8am 9am all the same to me i just start when i want, if i wake them up i say sorry, if i see them getting changed i say nothing and act as though nothing happended. People aren't usually too fussed about what time you start apart from during the school holidays some like lay ins then ,but ive got to know who these people are and give them a bit of time.

I start at 8am , over time ive worked out who is up at 8am and who is out at work so i just start with them

regarding wfp you should have no problems because there is no excess noise involving ladders and also no invasion of privacy , the only downside is that you do not get to see any naughty bits  ;D  im a perv i know  ;)

We drop the Little Un off at school at 9.05 am and start when we arrive at our first house.  So that's between 9.15 to 9.30 am.

I couldn't imagine getting up at 6.00 am to clean windows!  I left 'silly o' clocks' when I bought myself out of the army.

We aim to be on the road by 9am.

Often it is 9.30 - another cup of tea etc.

How on earth does anyone (Ian) willingly start at 6.30am?

We're often on the road at 6.30 a.m. as we cover most of South Wales and as far as Hereford. Don't mind though!

Depends on whether it's commercial or not.
I like to make early starts most days.

On site at 6.30-7.30 often during spring-early autumn, hit £100/£120 by noon and do another £70/80 domestic in the afternoon, twice a week ups my averages. (Generally start last house no later than 4pm, so finish between 4.20 and 4.30)

Winter - don't like it freezing - so about 8 am commercial, 9.30 domestic. Finish 3.30/4pm. I'm happy to get in £100 on domestic plus a bit say £10 for fuel etc.

Domestic, outside winter- generally 9 am, but often 8.30 starting on a house where I know the owner has left for work.
It's a game of three halves!

I suppose "used to be" doesn't count, but, for the record: for 9 years I started at 4.30 - 5. am 6 days a week.
You haven't posted "What time finish?"  Again used to be 5pm, and in winter when it got dark = 4.15p.m.
But..... not related to my work really, I had a heart attack 2-1/2 years ago.  Now got heart disease and diabetes and...

So pulling the sympathy card here...

I go a bit crazy sometimes.  I am trying to get back some life, and at the same time can't take it too seriously.  I'm sure you understand.  Well Golden Graham does.

Anyway, musn't grumble!

PJ,

Starting at 4.30 am and finishing at 4.30 pm is some going; six days a week.

You must've been mad!

An eight hour day is MORE than enough for me.

That is What I did!

I just said yes to everything!!!

No more, I can tell you.  As much as is reasonable, I call the shots now.

But I live in a tough area.  Prices are not good.  You have to be here to believe.

Stil, not in TEXAS!!! (TEXACO)
