Any of you in the AA?
« on: October 25, 2010, 07:35:06 pm »
I have been with the AA for many years, It was handy for me running both a car and a van.
This year I am only running a car and trailer so decided to shop around, Greenflag saved me nearly £40.
The AA rang me yesterday about renewing my membership. I told them I was switching to Greenflag. They immediately offered me a 25% discount if I renewed with them.
Next time your AA is up for renewal, tell them your switching.
Insurance companies and the AA reward loyalty by ripping off long standing members.
I TOLD THEM TO GO AND WHISTLE DIXIE.

if you have got tesco vouchers, you can use them for the rac, think £35 in tesco vouchers gets you decent rac cover. I think they still do that deal

I'm in the RAC and have used the tesco vouchers for about 4 years now, when I got my van a year ago I asked one of the RAC sales guys outside tesco about the covering the van. I explained what cover I already had and he told me that as long as the vehicle is less that 3.5 ton I was covered, BONUS!!!! ;D

do you guys in the aa know you can get parts cover really cheap as well. I pay £65 per vehicle per year on top of the full relay , homestart etc. This covers me for up to £500 per claim with a £25 excess. The vehicle must break down as a result of a failure of the part. They won't just replace it cause its worn.
For example, battery dead, starter motor won't work etc. I had an alternator go and the power steering went dead as it's electronically aided. £300 bill from the garage after tow in by aa cost me £25. You can have up to 5 claims a year with a max of £500 per claim.
