Hi guys - today i cleaned a large detached house, with a large conservatory (2.5 times standard size con) for £62

This was the first one i have done & was more work than i estimated, taking me the best part of 4hrs.
I used my WFP trolley system & 200ltrs of pure water.

Question is = what do you think to the price & whats best for cleaning weathered / green conservatory roofs & UPVC frames.

£62 sounds nearly right for a large house and conny first clean

but only for windows

not con roof

if you were doing the just the roof as a one off and it was green id want £100 min upwards depending how big etc

If possible, always use custys outside tap and hose to get the worst off. Use your own water as a final rinse.

By TFR do you mean traffic film remover - used in the valeting industry?

Yes, leave it to soak for about 1min then do what I said above.

theres exceptions

the guy obviously knows hes underpriced at £62 for 4 hours

shouldve been between 80 and 150 depending on if you were getting repeat work or if you needed it etc
if someone rang me now though and said can you clean a huge conny roof id be saying about 100

I am just learning to pitch my price & virtually all the jobs i am getting are from custys who havent had a windy for some time - for that custy i will now get 4weekly business at £18 for windows only - i am looking to build for the long term, but realise i still need to up my price.

Its not bad mate

still £15 an hour and a new job

you will only learn from experience

plus if your new to cleaning you may of priced right but not be confident and upto speed yet

takes time, at last your getting work!

just use tfr and normal tap water,Don't waste your pure water on them (unless its a glass roof then rinse off with pure after)

This doesn't make sense to me and it doesn;t seem to be in keeping with my experiences of cleaning conny roofs, infact its exactly the opposite. I only ever use TFR on very dark black patches. But the green what the OP mentions is usually moss/algae and i've personally found nothing better than pure water for cleaning it off and removing it. I usually use the customers tap for the final rinse off as i've never come across many conny roofs that needs a 'final finish' with pure water, unless of course we're talking clear glass roofs. Scrubbing with the brush is the major thing that removes green from conny foofs, not magic potions. Use pure water for cleaning, and tap water for flushing, rinsing and chasing of debris.

Roofs that are particularly green with algae can be cleaned with wfp, but I tend to first spray some tfr onto the roof and leave for about 1min. Then use custys hose to rinse off. This method gets the worst of the algae off before using a brush.

I then use my brush and custys hose to finish unless it's a glass roof in which case I use pure water to finish.
