Shauns laptop was built by Fred Dibnah and runs on steam. I have told him things have moved on a bit. ;D

Shaun try going through your computer's "add/remove programs" and uninstall everything you don't use or need.  After that go through your "program files" folder and delete the folders for all the stuff you've uninstalled.

Then run this fantastic little free program called Easycleaner

http://download.cnet.com/ToniArts-EasyCleaner/3000-2094_4-10522776.html

It's totally safe, doesn't contain spyware or anything nasty like that.  You can clear out loads of unnecessary stuff with it.

The laptop is approx 18 months old, my wifes laptop (also run on fossil fuels) is running slow (I think she's been looking on 'those' sites!) I'll have to investigate further, my daughter says if I were to push all of the keys in together at the same time it may mend it - me thinks culprit found!

Backup what you need and do a recovery (not windows) it will give it a new lease of life, it works on one I have designed for ME :-X

Oh free or pay for there is nothing like a virgin-disk ;)

Mrs has phone with it, who am I to argue? tbh it's the only problem we've had in the years we've been with them.

Anyway £6.99 I think that's expensive it's only a wire and bit of air waves, it takes me 3 days to earn that!!!
