Unethical or Just Business Again
« on: October 08, 2010, 10:06:17 pm »
James started an interested thread (Unethical or Just Business) which generated lots of response.

I live in a small town (20,000 pop.) and Yell advised me to get a PO box in a big town (75,000 pop) to generate more business from their products.  (I didn't go with them in the end but that's another story).

Putting James' question another way, is it fair for small town firms like mine to be restricted to a backwater on the web or can we join in the competition in the bigger centres of population?  I get enquiries from a 50 mile radius but with web enquiries it is more like a 10 mile radius - how can I improve it?

1. That's Yell for you. Like I said previously they are happy for someone to advertise around here having an address as a room in the hospital

2. I have no problem if your nearest postal town/city is 20 miles away

3. Leaflets and parish mags proving you are local to that area.
