Sorry but I am slagging off their wfp gear & it's well deserved! ;D

Decent trad gear although the ergotec system is another joke! ;)

you are right in a way I suppose because only a small % of window cleaners use forums we have no idea what the majority use, doesn't mean the majority are right of course, but they could be :-\

This argument's been done before with WCW-

They tried to convince us that extel poles were better than SLX's because they had sold more extels than Gardiners had SLX's! ;D ;D

I'm sure McDonalds have sold more burgers in their restaurants than Gordon Ramsey has in his! ;)

im not doubting him at all but me and winpro have both said, i bet alot of there sales are people entering wfp, putting there trust in the brand. unger = good. sorry not this time! as i have already said if they are the biggest in the world where is the product development?

Xtel hybrid and the Unger advanced hybrid appear to be the same pole but one is green, both very pricey compared to the CLX.

Could D Woods give comment on  whether the Unger is basically a green Xtel.

I have no problem with anyone selling it, business is business.

To be honest, I'm shocked at such a poor effort in wfp by Unger. I've always thought this too. I notice they do have a new telescopic out though, maybe this might be OK? For me, their reputation is shattered & I have no confidence or faith in their wfp effort!

Look at the carbontec marketing ;D

The reality- over priced, over weight, over engineered almost useless piece of nonsense! ::)

The pole you are talking about wasn’t made for the sole trader. Unger or one of there distributors will sell you one, but the pole wasn’t made for that market.

Same reason Gardiner’s poles won’t be purchased by some firms.

You’re bound to come across the marketing, but is it aimed at YOU!

It's funny you seem to know definate facts on ALL subjects Ewan but can NEVER back up with any evidence! ::)

So, how did you come across this usefull information?

By the way, the unger is a re badged extel & the green brushes are re badged vikans.

what the hell?... a pole is a pole doesnt matter if a one man band or several different operatives use it.

No it does matter, I don't want to presume what ewan is saying but maybe unger are targeting larger company's with employees that want a robust pole that can be roughly handled, whereas the sole trader wants a light weight pole that he will cherish and look after, but would not trust an employee with

winproclean, from Unger when I was at the trade show, I have also heard the same or similar comments from distributors.

If you speak to them and just ask the relevant questions they will give you are honest answer.

I know what you mean by the badge poles & brushes, and I agree with a lot of your comments about Unger, but not all there wfp equipment is aimed at every wfp window cleaner.

Fair enough Ewan I don't disbelieve that they told you that. ;)

that is true of most manufacturers, all the big boys make a 60ft pole generally for commercial use, but does that mean that the smaller poles 18ft etc made by the same people are all for commercial too, not difinitive.

Unger's new carbon tec brush is much improved. Very impressed with it, lighter, more rigid, squashes just right, scrubs well and prefer using it to gardiners new improved super light brushes anyday.

Old gardiner super light brushes were good, but their new ones I'll never buy another new one, mine lost it's shape in a couple of weeks of use, value for money really bad and reliability in their new brush gone forever.

windowwashed i got a new brush free of charge as my supalite mono went funny at the edges within 2 weeks!i can happily say the new one ive had no problems with.just a bad batch.they would have sorted it for you i bet!!

as for unger poles ive got an unger trad pole(30ft)and its really bendy for wfp.terrible!i think peter fogwell used to send them out with his systems as a standard pole.

i do use it as a trad pole on a few jobs and its fine.ive also converted a small unger extension pole into a mini wfp but i only use it for washing the van due to very short closed length on the clx.

as for the unger wfp ive never tried any so i cant comment.im sure they will catch up eventually and make more lighter/user friendly wfps in time.

there trad gear is excellent though IMO
price higher/work harder!

Gardiners are re-introducing the older type SL brushes (the ones with less splay) ;)

They were suppose to be selling the old flocked brush but still not in yet. It's a good brush but the old mono is better. Hence why I've replaced the new SL brush which I don't like with Unger's new improved carbon tec hi flo mono brush. It's good competition for the SL :)

I also can't get on with the newer wider splay brushes, My DT mono is still holding out (2 years old) ;D & I'm waiting for the others to come into stock. ;)
