i read somewhere that  fraudsters sometimes doctor the  card machines at the factory where they are made with a special chip to transfer folks info to someplace else

Is it a good idea to blame Wintecs at this stage? Quite a serious allegation there. Doubt if it's fraud more like computer error - could be something as simple as clicking 'send' twice when ordering.

Have you spoke to wintecs ?
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

the payment wasnt taken on a card machine, it was taken on there web site in the shop as they dont have a card machine,  they use the payment page of there web site,  might not of been them, but funny how a duplicate payment for the same amount has gone out to some one else  and most wc i know have had problems after using wintecs, my mate lost 500

spoke to wintecs yesterday and got told it cant be them as they check there system 4 times a day, but lots of wc are haveing problems after using wintecs

if any one doesnt think it is them, try and buy something and see what happens

As I said in the other thread, I was going to try an experiment with wintecs, but have decided to shop elsewhere.

it could be that the wintecs system has been hacked itself so anyone using their payment system automaticly reveal their deatails to the fraudsters.

It sounds to me like a couple of things could have happened. Either 1- wintecs "secure" online payment system has been compromised by a third party or 2- somebody at wintecs is selling or using the details for their own benefit.

I hope you have explained to your bank how many wc'ers have suffered this same problem and directed the fraud dept to the last thread about it.

Fortunately banks seem to be very good with reimbursing fraudulant payments (they were with me after my £2k card got maxed out in a Madrid fashion store) but it sickens me that these scumbags are rarely brought to book over it.

I always use Wintecs - They are great!

How can you accuse them on a public forum, without even know for sure they are at fault?

It sounds like too much of a coincedence to me that several people have been stung, especially considering monkey has only used his card at wintecs and tesco.

Not that I've purchased at wintecs anyway, but i personally wouldn't hand my card details over to them after Reading the last thread.

wheres the money gone then surely your bank can tell you that
(after 2 hours explaining  yourself 15 times to someone in a call centre in delhi)

if it gone into wintecs account surely they ll return it if no goods have been dispatched to you

probably a bug in the system or a nigerian

right will explain why i think its wintecs,

i used my card on friday for 179 at wintecs,  this is fine,  at the same time i used the card at wintecs a payment for 179 went to the same company what is trying to get the 2 x 90 and 2 x 95 out of my bank, the bank told me where the second 179 went and it went to the same company that the others have gone to,  the fraud ones,  the bank told be it was probably from there web site, as that is when it all started

have spoke to a few wc who use wintecs and a  few have had problems, when paying by card

i was just trying to warn people

i know some one who was ripped off by 500 after using wintecs  and they told wintecs and they didnt seem to do any thing about, i know they probably aint lying as they are all JW,  as wintecs and these all go the same church

If you read his other thread about cloned cards
you would see its not the first time Wintecs have been involved in this sort of thing.
Not blaming the company but something sure is wrong there
