Supply Services for schools.
« on: October 05, 2010, 01:57:01 pm »
Hi

Had a call today from a company called Supply Services for schools.
Basically they put you on there web site and any school or college looking for a cleaning contractor
Looks on there website. Its £150 for the year and that covers the hole of London. They said there would only be 10 contractors for this area.

Sounds to good to be true to me. What do you think. Anyone had dealing with them.

Thanks

Fred.

We dont deal with them. So cannot recommend them. However we do work for schools and you dont need to be on there to get work for schools.

Had a similar phone call the other day to go on a suppliers list for nursing homes and according to the guy the homes could only use this list  ::) ::)

They wanted £150 for the year  :o said no of course but he still rang back the next day to see if we had changed our minds!!

Give me £150 and I will put you on a list that you will never get any work from

And then next year if you pay me £300 I will put you on the preferred suppliers  list

I get calls like this all the time.

I just put them in their place and say things like ''Oh so how come I've already done work at such-a-place then without going through the likes of you first?''

Best one was actually nursing homes and I asked can they name some in the area in which I'd be of service to. He put the phone down when I cut him short to one he mentioned. I told him I'd just cleaned the paving there 2 weeks previous, to which we actually had.

hi there

most school cleaning work goes through an ojec tender process, not on a listing as you have described.

and £150 can get you a lot more of higher profit work than school contracts.

good luck with it though.

martin
