« on: September 20, 2005, 01:21:56 pm »
Just signed up yesterday, very interesting forum. Can any body advise me on the best wfp to purchase to clean commercial and residential windows, bearing in mind 80% of my work is residential. Needs to keep 2 guys going all day. Ive contactd all the different companys selling wfp systems and they all give you the same jargon.....theres is the best .

Hi Simon

They all produce pure water and will give excellent results.

I would ask questions what has the tec support been like?

And how deep is your pocket.

I have started a pole out of interest.

Simon

First you need to find out whether you are in a hard or soft water area.

You say 80% of your customers are residential homes, if so are they grouped together ( 4 or more in one road ) or are they spread around, Is it easy to park, how do you access the backs ( via alleyways - though the house etc ).

What vechicle do you have, a mini metro is a no no.

These are only some of the first things you need to look at, so I would recommend that you write everthing down, then let us know and I'm sure we come up with a answer for you.

Thanks for replying Roy and Williamx. I will keep my eye on your pole Roy, thanks. All my residential are very compact, parking is no problem, Access to the backs is via gate (not much climbing).
I have an escort van but im willing to upgrade to a bigger one.

If that the case then you don't need a trolley.

you will need the following

1  A tank of pure water ( 400 Litres) correctly fitted to the floor of your van

2  A 100psi pump ( if you can carry a spare in case) with a flow regulator

3  You will need 2 poles which go to a height of 18' also one of them should reach 30'

4  You will need 2 hoses and hose reels one should be 100m and the other at least 40m

5  You will need a leisure battery 85 amps

6  You will need 2 scrapers - gg3 or similar - some srims and blades and maybe a small ladder to reach the height of a garage.

7  A DI Tank and if you are in a hard water area a ro unit

8  Loads of connectors

as graham says, yes i have :), those are the pics of my system

i have a system for sale at the mo, its a long story, i built it for a guy, the guy was doing it part time, with a plan for full time with the WFP system, he then changed his mind, thus i have it built and ready to go (well apart from the barrels, as im using them now, so i will order some more when the system sells)

Don't be confused Simon Spencer - you'll find almost everyone on this forum helpful. If you come across someone who is less than helpful , well just ignore them.

Graham,
Others may think you are funny, you frequently push the boat out, you are also the most moderated poster on the board.
If you go around trying to insult others, or call newbies suckers then your posts will be moderated or removed.
Few of your posts have much useful information, when they do they are good, but many of them are satirical.
We want to welcome newbies, answer their questions, give them advice. Telling them to trawl through all the back pages for answers to their questions isn't helpful.

Thankfully most of us on here do our best to answer queries.

Welcome aboard the great ship 'cleanitup' Simon.

I joined in July and have found the advice on this forum invaluable.  In fact I recently purchased a water fed pole system and found some of the other guys on her more help than the retailers.  You get a good balanced, unbiased view on most topics. (with the odd insult thrown in - just ignore them as Ian has already said).

You cant beat experienced replies and some of these guys seem to have experienced most things.

One suggestion I have it to trawl through old threads as they contain lots of info from past and present members - failing that dont be worried about asking what you think is a simple question - if you dont know the answer then the its not simple is it .

Good luck, nice to hear from you

Simon, just ask anything you want to know mate.
There are loads of guys on this forum that get pleasure from being of assistance to others. I feel that I have made friends on here of guys who I will proberbly never meet. You will too. It's a fact of life, being able to help others makes us feel good about ourselves, no harm in that mate. Good luck, and don't be afraid to ask. You will be able to give the benefit of your own experience to other newbys before too long. Dai
