Equipment insurance
« on: October 04, 2010, 12:01:09 pm »
Hi,

I transport cleaning materials and equipment in my car.  They're not really worth a lot but I was wondering if I'm still required to have insurance to cover the transportation of equipment?

Thanks.

Hi Jenny,

Its not a legal requirement to have insurance for the equipment, i.e. vacuum cleaner, buffing machine in a van or car.

You do need to let your insurance know if you carry hazardous waste and if you are a waste carrier you need to be registered as a waste carrier.

Also one point, if anything gets stolen in an accident you may not be covered...for the equipment.
