Domestic Garage Floor Sealing
« on: October 03, 2010, 09:48:59 pm »
Hi

We want to seal our garage floor - the warehouse - the old seal has flaked and some of the concrete surface is loose and slightly crumbly in patches. Is an attachment for a rotary machine available somewhere to sand/grind the floor to get a smooth surface before re-sealing it?

Your tips and advice appreciated.

Thanks

Grant

We did a similar thing to what you are experiencing... you can't sand it. You need to screed it. If that's out of the question as lack of skill... try a self levelling compound mix. Then apply the sealer.

Self levelling compound on the tub says not for finishing floors... but we have done a few like this... No complaints. In our lasat house we had this done by us and lasted over 8 years....probably still ok but we moved.

A friend of ours had it done on there kitchen floor and they get comments like... How expensive was it to have done.... we applied a pattern and some floor varnish for stone and looks great.
