Hi Cannon,

Yes I an give you prices from my research and the prices we charge.

We are based in the Kent area so your area might be different.

Single ovens start from £35.00 - £45

Double Oven - £45 - 55

Hob - £15

Microwave £10

Extraction Unit £10

Arga - £75 +

I have seen companies charge £70 for a single oven. But I am unsure how filthy the oven was. It depends on if you want the work. If you price too high you wont get much work. Bare in mind that oven cleaning is a slow job on its own.. and can take anywhere between 2 -3.5 hours.

Have a look on the internet most show prices. So that will give you an idea.

What have you purchased a dip tank? If so is i heated?

What tools have you got?

Do you know how to remove the glass and door from the oven, there are about 5 different types of oven door hinges and the glass itself takes use to getting out. There are two parts to glass the inner and the outer. Sometimes the inner is dirty and the only way to access it is by removing the out inner glass. I hope that makes sense...

Hi Dave

Thanks for the reply, i have an un heated but insulated dip tank and all other equipment required. At the min this is just an add on to the carpet cleaning, but when/if it takes off i will invest more in it ie heated tank etc.

Yeah pricing seems about the same across the country from what ive seen and the pricing youve quoted is what im thinking of. Maybe with a little discount if taken with carpet/upholstery cleaning.

Can you recomend anywhere for training?

Am i right in thinking you also do end of tenancy cleans? I have a few landlords now who i do carpet cleaning for so along with oven cleaning i think the full end of tenancy cleaning is the next natural progresion. How do you normally price the end of tenancy cleaning?

Thanks for the help

Hi Cannon,

Yes we do EOT Cleans, lots of them for letting agents and Property Management companies.

With regards to "How do I price them" that depends on the clean required, location, access and what they want doing.

One off cleans we charge more money, if they are a regular client, like giving us 3 - 5 houses a month then they get a discount of say 30 - 40 percent.

We would clean a 3 bed house, windows, carpets, oven, full clean for about £200 but that's has a discount applied. And that's not being that dirty. If its filthy then its more. If it was a one off I would charge around the £250 - 300 mark. It all depends if you want the work?

There are many competitors, from established firms to start ups... and we price accordingly and I will always price match if the price is reasonable and we can earn out of it.

It also depends on your strategy, we have now changed to Volume, so you go in cheaply. Yes you are working harder but we rather be working than sitting on my backside wishing I had work and not being able to pay the rent... if you get my drift.

The way I see it, my competitors set the prices and I have to compete as we all can offer a great service and a high standard so its price that wins in most cases.

As for training, look for Dirt Busters on the net... http://www.ovencleaningequipment.co.uk/ they are reasonably charged, not sure if they are near you?

I have not done a days training in Ovens, been doing them for years. But hay, I am not knocking traing... its always a good thing and helps build some confidence if required.

send me an email at sales@kentcleaning.com and I will answer anything questions about oven cleans eots as best as I can.

hope this helps

Dave

HI Cannon,

From what you have listed pricing is okay as an add on but wouldn't go too low if just doing an oven clean as you need to have a minimum charge per job - I'm sure you know this.

Time taken to clean ovens: single about an hour to an hour and a quarter. Oven with grill takes about an hour and half, standard size hob about 30 mins, and standard extractor about 15 to 30 mins.

We do EOT cleans and don't really give a discount unless we get a big job such as university halls of residence.

We offer training courses.

Graham
