Clean the pole with pure water - dry it and then spray MR Sheen onto a duster and wipe it all over the pole, do this weekly and you wont have a problem.

Yeah, just splinters!

Had a carbon ergolite, never again. Thing was spinning within 6 months. heavy & over-priced! Got black hands with carbon facelift too, which was also heavy compared to Gardiner carbons.

I now use gardiner carbon poles & wear thin gloves. Although it took a couple of days to innitially get used to wearing gloves, I now preferr to use them. Even if I couldn't wear gloves, still give me Gardiner poles over the others any day, no brainer! ;)

i must be the only one that doesnt get this problem?slx but no black hands,only a little bit when using clamps but i get a little water on my hands now and again and it dissapears.i do keep a scrim and microfibre in my pouches for some doors though and wipe pole hose often with damp microfibre,maybe keeps of residue?

splinters! how the hell did you get them ? when carbon is woven, glass fiber i can understand. What pole did you have?

ergolite, the first one & yeah, carbon is a weave- a weave of carbon fibers which when worn can stick out & stab your pinkies!

WE CLEAN BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT WITH WATER FED POLE WHEN WORKING AT HEIGHT.
