I have just bought the swb 85. so far it seems like a great van, too early to tell what the running costs are though.

One of the reasons I got it was its an ex BT van so was fully kitted and racked out, (I took most of the racks out but some are very useful)
Also it came with a steel safe in the cab plus a night heater and hot water heater, (only for hand washing)
The night heater will be fantastic this winter if its anything like last year.
I have a 650L tank in but you would not know when driving.

Got one on a 03 plate, great van drives well, but the diesel pump
has just went on it . £700 for a new pump plus labour charges and
its a common fault with transits.

Matt, the Citroen dispatch or Peugeot/Fiat equivalents (new shape) are similar size, cheaper to buy and better mpg.
The pen is mightier than the sword (and a lot easier to write with!)

Got a swb 260 just had new fuel pump and second hand gearbox! Not too bad when I've had the van for 8years and never spent any money on repairs just service and Mot, if you can get one after 2004 the gearboxs were changed :)

I have a LWB high-roof Transit mk 6. I do carpet cleaning aswell as winder cleaning, but the insurance costly, gas guzzling monster comes in handy for running the scrap metal and acting as a makeshift campervan if a fancy a couple of days down the coast!

I know a few people that have had no end of trouble with transits, the most reliable and trouble free ones are the older pre 2000, but the problem with these they dont seem to look the part anymore and were slower. The newer ones are nicer looking and faster but the good things end there IMO.

I tried racing one today, obviously below the speed limit. They don't half shift.
