Need nut size for hosereel spindle
« on: September 27, 2010, 09:23:55 pm »
Hvae been using my hose reel with a drill and 22mm socket as an electric reel for a few months now. However, I have finally worn the plastic spindle down and the socket is spinning now. I am going to put a nut on the thread and use that instead.

Does anybody know what size nut I need? I have looked but it doesn't seem to be as simple as I imagined it would be. Is it A2 or UNC or BZP or BSF or BSW or UNF or something else I haven't come accross yet? I had no idea there were so many options.

your best bet is to pop into an engineering m/c shop they will measure the o/d (outside diameter) and have
some thread pitch guages this will identify your thread and they may even have a suitable nut to hand.
