before i went wfp some of you guys were telling me to get a bigger van/tank etc and mostly im using 200-250L  day(6-7 hours actually working)sometimes nearly 300L ON A LONG DAY!

i wfp most work now and have my flow on pretty high(60 on the freedom flowcontroller)and i just cant see how i could possibly use any more water!!


some of you guys say 250L only lasts you until dinnertime! :

im getting round faster.easier and safer with wfp and im loving it at the moment.i rinse well and most work is coming up fantastic after 4 cleans.

i do trad the odd ground floors when appropiate but not many  now!

how much do you guys use?

i cleaned a church the other day and it hadnt been cleaned for years and i only used 50L!AND IT TOOK ME 2 HOURS!(good price though!)

how do you guys use so much water if your a one man band?

on a full day i blitz through 400 litres. that does me roughly 20 jobs.

400-500 for me, Used 1000 once on a twelve hour day. Commercial work soon sucks it up too.

I have a 650 litre tank,

i only use half of that per day on some days,

on other i use more,

i simply went for the bigger option for when i got really busy and, or, when i have another guy working with me.

when i first went wfp, it was like this:

backpack, and constanly filling up with 25 litre containers.. (a pain)

then 250 litre baffled tank,

then 400

then 600

now 650.

i wish i had simply gone for what i have now, it would have saved me lots of hassle and money.

my advice would be go straight for the biggest you can carry,

think big cos your round never shrinks. (unless you purposely trim down)

gazza our rounds might not shrink but i can only do so much work in a day so ill never need more than 300L will i?

i find some days the water goes quicker than others but most of the time i can do a full day on 300 - 500ltrs

It really does depend what sort of work you've got though and also how you work.  It can also depend on the equipment you have.
Too many variables really but 400 would get me through most days on ordinary domestics.
I like to use a fairly high flow rate as this assists with two things
1) It makes it much less likely that I do a duff job.
2) It achieves the above while allowing me to work at a decent pace.

On most jobs I could achieve a decent job with less water and still work at a reasonable pace - but there will always be the odd few jobs where the quality won't be so good working that way.  You don't usually find out which ones they are until you mess them up.  I would rather use more water and never have to find out.
Also, when you have decent sized commercial jobs these can really drink the water - particularly on a hot day when you need to rinse well to make sure.
Much of my water usage is a about "making sure" and I could probably get away with a fair bit of it.
Sometimes I think I have finished a job only to see a bit of something on a window that needs rinsing off.  It may just be a bit of loose debris from a tree but if I used a lower flow rate, I'm sure there would be more of these.

Ditto, when I changed to a higher flow rate I never looked back. No problems with worrying about spotting whatsoever.
And I don't really think I use any more water than before, but if I did it wouldn't worry me.

I use between 500 and 650 litres on a 6 hour day but that's for 2 of us.

A lot have no flow control at all, so the pump is going flat out and then they have no valve to turn the water off between windows or even houses, they quite literally plug in reel out and work with the pump spewing out water the whole time until they unplug their pole.

A trolly user will always give more consideration of water used as well where as a van mount guy will imagine they have a limitless supply.

I started off with a trolley and 8 barrels. Now I have a 350 litre tank.

Next van I'll look to get 600 litres, it helps to speed up working having more water.

 i have mine on 60 (out of a 100)on the freedom controller most of the time.i have a pole tap and i dont generally wfp doors(only the odd one or two)as some custies dont like it.

im mainly domestic and i do trad the odd downstairs windows(usually old wooden or badly oxidised frames)

I don't use an electric flow controller as such.  I have a tap on the tank that can be set to return unused water to the tank and I have a tap on the end of the hosereel to make adjustment there too if required.  Having a return to tank setup can protect the pressure switch.  It can mean the leisure battery is being used more though but this needn't be an issue if using a split charge relay and having a spare battery on charge.  I often swap them over while filling the tank from the static unit.
