hi all,
anyone know of anywere i could get my hose repaired or how to do it myself?
the male/female connector keeps poping of the end of the solution hose with the pressure im only using 100psi iv had it fixed by alltec and its been fine for about a week but its just gone again, and i need to finish the job this weekend and there shut till monday any ideas.

im in the essex/herts area

All I can suggest is you use a jubilee clip to seal the hose.

pirtek, or any hydraulic hose company in the yellow pages, most do 24 hour callout, or have a trade counter you can visit, also, just because your pump, is 100 psi rated, the pressure in the hose will often be far greater.

Are you using a inline heater? if so, this does increase the psi and it will keep on popping off.  If you are using one just take it off and the hose should be allright.

theres no inline heater so that cant be the problem.

found pirtek they seem brilliant theres one just down the road from me and according to there website they have somone with you within the hour wish i had known about them last week as this problem has put the brakes on two jobs now costing me two days money.

i take it some of you must have used them to be recomending them,
how much would you expect to pay for a call out?
i magine it must be cheaper to go to them how much would you then expect to pay?

I use them regularly! and the charges are really cheap! but go to them! and have a look at the brass and stainless fittings they keep in stock too!they've just started stocking vac hoses too! great if you only need an odd size!

Like already said, I use a local Hydralic Hose company, get to know them treat them well and they repair mine for free, also good for cheap conectors!!

call pirtek out and it will cost you a fortune!! I've used them in the past and I only will go there as a last resort. they all must have a different pricing structure, because around here they are not cheap.

Keep a few good quality jubilee clips on the van, not the cheap chatty ones from the bargain shop.
These are quite adequate to keep you going until you can get a proper repair. Saves having to pull off jobs.

I agree , use a local company, luckily we have offshore suppliers here.

They are mainly used to massive offshore hoses and pee themselves when I go to the trade counter with a 1 foot long hose from inside a Ninja!

just rang pirtek.
and to get a call out in out of office hours just aint worth it,
£30-£40 call out charge plus best part of £50 an hour labour, minumum labour charge 3 hours plus parts and i would imagine plus vat,
during office hours same call out charge but you only pay for the labour you use.
or go to them and just pay parts and labour.

so there a brilliant idea coming to you on site and im sure they could save most of us some grief.
but you would have to be cleaning a lot of carpet to make it worth paying around £200 just to make a small repair to your hose id rather pull of the job get it fixed and go back.

think il keep a couple jubilee clips on the van from now on.

Dont see how using a jubilee clip will solve it, the hose goes inside a connector which is crimmped on. The male/female quick connect screws onto this. I have used Pirtec about 3 times, always visit them and have been charged £ 5 twice and £ 25 once. ( no one else about the first 2 times)

I also carry a spare solution hose doesnt take up much space but invaluable in emergencies.

i think different manafactures make the hoses different as my hose hasent got any connector with crimping and to look at it i would say a jubilee clip could work with mine.

i think i need to carry a spare like bob.
any one got any to sell? to fit a extraca excell.

The hose usually fits onto a male ferule. The crimping is just a metal sheath which covers the outside of the hose. When this goes you just cut the hose beyond it and a jubilee clip works fine.
