Has anybody got 1 and are they any good, have a look www.omnipole.com and tell me what you think,a few people have mentioned the thermo pure lately this maybe a much cheaper way of using hot water for your pole.

Looks a good bit of kit Daniel.  Even though ts considerably cheaer than Thermo is still quite a lot at £900 though.

Only been wfp on ALL jobs since July (and wont go back to ladders as the main method ever again). 

have not done a winter with the system yet and was wondering if the cold has any major impact on it without investing this sort of money.

What problems have you had ?

Any tips on keeping the pipes etc warmer as I dont have a garage to park the van in ?

Hi sarill,
To be honest ive never had a problem with it,but you could simply chuck an old blanket/quilt over it at night,or you could get a small heater the ones you can plug into the ciggy lighter and leave it on low over night, that might do the trick,
would be a bit of a gutter though wouldn it to get up at 6 bright an early only to find all your kit frozen,has this ever happended to anybody out there?

i used my system all winter last year

only once had a problem, the car temp said MINUS 4 and it was B4 7 in the morning

my pump had frozen, so now i take the cart out of the car and put it in the garage, jobs a good in

a side note, i decided to clean the doors and lower bit with a mop and sqeegee as i was on site (would save a trip back)
i went to the toilet and filled the bucket up with HOT water, put some GG4 in it, and put it on the window, it froze as soon as it touched the glass

this is the only time i have EVER had a problem, i got home, looked at the pump box, couldnt see anything, had a bite to eat and then started work on it, by that time it has thawed and was working

people have said that HOT water freezes at the same time as cold on glass

Good point Matt - had'nt thought about the speed at which it freezes on the glass just focussed on keeping it from freezing inside the equipment inside the van, but maybe the dogs blanket will sort out that little problem (as per Daniels suggestion)

Just so you know how the pro heater works.
The heater is attached directly to the pole connector after the hose has been extended.
This is so you get hot water going straight from the heater into the actual pole hose. It doesnt make sense to me to have warm water coming from the van along a 50 metre length of hose laying on the cold ground, by the time it gets to the pole it will be cold.
We are going to be stocking a new more economical version very soon. It wont be constructed of stainless steel ( because that is so expensive) but it will be powder coated galvanised steel.

a large quanity of water takes a hefty minus to freeze it, all last year mine didnt touch the 25L barrels, its the pump and brush head and pole pipe that'll freeze, as it only has a small amount of water in

Do you lag your poles with pipe foam then Matt ?

Assume just cover the hose then ?

Try and take the pump into your house during the night, if you cannot because its fixed to the van them put a wine cooler bag over it also release any water from the hoses which have stop connectors on.
