plasterboard sofits?
« on: September 11, 2010, 01:37:24 am »
Worked today in awful weather, gutter and window clean, and discovered his soffits were made out of plaster board! Started collapsing when I touched them. Talk about a cowboy roofer!

Some houses do have soffits made from exterior gypsum plasterboard.
They should last for years, perhaps they were old or the wrong grade.
What did the customer say?

Yes

They would not have been plasterboard as these wouldnt have lasted 3 months with the damp weather

At a guess they would have been asbestos based board, read up about them
