The Curse Continues
« on: September 16, 2005, 04:18:00 pm »
Well here we go again everyone!!!!

Fixed my pump problem this morning and it wasn’t actually the pump!!!! My battery had stopped taking charges and was too flat to operate the pump properly. New battery has sorted that out.

Well, here I was all set up and on my way to the new client I started yesterday. Only the back and one side left to do. I turn off the main road, heading down the lane and ‘SNAP’, my accelerator cable snapped. NO, NO, NO, this just doesn’t happen.

I walked up to the client’s house, explained what had just happened and apologised, yet again.

A few phone calls later, I sourced a new cable and phoned the wife, who then drove me 20 miles to get it. Upon our return, I fitted the cable and finally finished my job.

Now was all this worth £28 ???????

I've just had a couple of days like that nothing major but lots of little problems

Brush head broke off
Hose srung leek
Van full of water
Hose reel connector broke
Van full of water (again)
Clamp on pole stuck (nut and bolt cream crackerd)
Forgot to put battery on charge
Forgot to turn RO on night before

Lots of little things but after a couple of days of them I felt like I should go back to bed until next week.
The secret is not doing as you like but liking what you do

How do you catch up when your rained off for 2/3 das during the week then Dave.

Dont you use the weekends to do that given you may have had the time off in the week instead ?  By Monday I will be back up to date with my working rota and none of my customers cleans will be delayed.

Sarill

Ps Know this is hypethetical at the moment Dave as your laid up.

Sarril

say i am 3 dys and £500 behind on a friday .i will wait till monday
and try to earn at least £250 a day for the first 2 days and say i had £600 worth of work due for tht week as well that would put me £250 behind by wednesday then if i keep the pace up i may get it all done but normally i may just be say £200 behind for the following week .

then effectivelly i would have £900 due for the same week the next month .
yes i may loose a bit of money this way ,but i look forward to time off when i have got back on track . and by working weekends i will lose motivation by say wednesday and be knacked . it is a lot more productive for me to go to work feeling fresh on a monday.
i earn twice as much by not being tired.
also when i finish on a friday i just empty my head of all work related stuff and just get on with enjoying my weekend .there is more to life than money and work .
if you never work weekends then you dont miss them as earning days .
if you cant earn what you want in the week on average over a month even if it rains . then you might as well work for someone else and let them have the headache .
i look at work as a 3 +1/2 day week , but a lot of weeks it takes longer.if i can get it all done in that time .brilliant and that leaves me 1 1/2 days for rain /car repairs /paperwork etc .

Hi David,

Nice to se someone with good old fashioned family values.  I make a point of finishing my week days at about 3.30 just to spend time with the family (and CIU !!!)

I suppose if I worked until 5 each day I would catch up too within a week but value my shorter days too much, particularly in the winter !!!

Working a sat suits me as my daughter is always out dancing or at some party or other so would be at home on my todd watching the footie and on this site.

Whatever suits as long as some 'me' time is spent eh !!!

Regards,

Sarill
