Its usefull if you have prepaid broadband as yhe calls are free.
Not sure how it would help on this site though as people may be reluctant to give thier skype adress out.

I'm not sure what that means. Could you explain it a little more?

I think you mean talking to someone on the phone instead of typing. I think.

If so, I type postings in between working out the following days work. It breaks things up a little where as if I was on a phone......

Thanks and cheers

I know what that is.

My mate told me last week.

If I had one of them I could be pro active and interact with my clients needs and enhance their visual expereince in a way that is condusive to their in house requirments.

Skype is a free bit of software that enables you to talk over your broadband connection free of charge to other Skype users, anywhere in the world. You can set up a conference with up to five people, which could be handy if you needed to sort out work or wfp problems or a bit of a knees up(?)

Oh ...  :o

I still don't understand.

Sorry. I just don't get it.

How would it help me type and why would I want to 'conference' with 5 customers at once and I cannot think of any occasion where I'd be needed to talk to loads of people at once?

My missus though and her friends.........

Maybe I'm odd.

Phone calls cost me 4p per 59 minute call eves and weekend.
I don't wanna talk to anyone more than that.
I know people on skype
Bit of a gimmick at the moment.  But I have heard that Bill Gates is about to launch free phonecalls to all broadband internet users through microsoft software.
Watch this space, it has to come

Thanks.

Now I understand.

The original posting meant 'why type when you can chat on the phone for free'.

Blimey... I feel knackered now.

Cheers

Good point.

I still don't get how it would all help us on this forum.

The problem being that if I want to speak to someone, I phone them up.

I would not type to them if I wanted to phone them up would I?

If I wanted to speak to my missus I would not be typing to her in the first place.

The original posting implied some type of software that .. oh I don't know.  :-[

My wife said, if I expected her to remember something I'd told her, then why didn't I write it down in the first place.
Women...Can you work them out?
At least now I can talk to her on the phone for free!

I know a bloke, hasn't talked to his wife for 3 months!!
Wellll, he didn't want to interrupt her now, did he?

Pj :D :D :D
