Hi

What did you use to clean the rings with?

Feel free to ring me if you want to discuss training.

The rings are aluminum so any contact with a caustic cleaner will tarnish them. It depends on how bad they have been affected. If they go grey then it is just a case of wiping it off with a scourer and you then buff them up.

To clean them the best way is to use a steel scourer and press the scourer onto the ring and you just go all the way around applying pressure and the dirt will come off. If you do this under a running tap you can then use a finer scourer, like a brillo pad, to get them to shine. Buff them up with a dry cloth.  This does need some strong forearm muscles though.

Hope this helps

Graham

The good thing about oven cleaning is... Getting it finished :) The job satisfaction is rewarding, just stick at it and you'll be fine...
Be careful with the courses, they are way over priced IMHO!!!

These ovens have quite a pourous finish and are one of the hardest to clean.

Invest in elbow grease... You'll need it ;D

Hi Colin

Do you have a plastic electric tank? If so where did you get it? Im looking to invest in a tank but dont want a gas version.

Thanks

Your right there Colin especially with it being grey inside you have to get every last bit off. We did consider getting a tank but would have to get a bigger van etc so just going to stick to doing them without it as we only do them in with an EOT we don't just clean ovens on their own.

Yes a great job. I love doing these sort of ovens as the end result is fantastic.

How long did it take you to clean it?

Without a heating tank you may be stuck if you get some very dirty racks as you'll need a lot of forearm muscle strength and time to clean them. I have spent a very long time just trying to get the racks clean on the few occasions I haven't had a hot dipping tank with me. With end of tenancy cleans expect the very worse.

To me your oven would have been an easy clean and would have taken me between 30 mins and 45 mins to clean, and this would have included stripping the door down and cleaning the fan.
