How to price Gutter Cleaning. Not Clearing
« on: August 05, 2010, 03:58:16 pm »
Does anyone know of an attachment for poles for cleaning gutters. We need to find a quicker method than standard brush heads to be able to bring price per meter to within certain establishment's budgets.

Any ideas chaps?

Pressure washer and an extendable lance.
I have a 25ft lance and a 300psi pressure washer. it doesn't take long to wash down the guttering on a 3 bed semi.

Presume you dont use pure water for this system? does it clean as effectively as the brush and pure water?

On my pressure washer I have a detergent syphon that I plug in the back then I drop it in the bottle of detergent and then I use the low pressure nozzle and spray it on then wait 10 mins then blast it off.
Takes next to know time.

Hi Matt,

Do you use a Gutter Vac for clearing the insides.  Thinking of getting one.

Which pressure washer do you use?

Many thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob, I use the PolarVak and a cheap pressure washer as this was the only one I could afford at the time, Think it cost £250 or around that figure of Ebay.

Cheers for that.  So with the polarvak you use existing pole?  Does the power for the pressure washer and vac  come from a plug or generator?

The pressure washer is a petrol powered, The PolarVak I use the customers electricity, hoping to get a generator when I eventually get a larger van.

Hi Matt,

The Polar Vak seems good value.   I presume you are happy with its performance?

Did your pressure washer come with the long lance?

Thanks for answering my questions. i am getting a lot of enquiries regarding gutters.

PolarVak is very good value for money, i have cleaned loads and loads of guuters with it, The extendable lance didn't come with the pressure washer, I paid £150 for the lance, I belive you can get one for approximately £100.

If you can afford it too Rob, have a look at a CCTV kit, I find this helps with customer confidence, as I video before and after the clean then show the customer, if they want to have a DVD it only takes 15 minutes to burn one for them.

Is that the survey kit on their website?   Does the vac then sit on the trolley?

No the vac sits on 4 castors, the trolley for the surveillance kit hold the monitor and the battery pack.
I think the monitor is 7 or 8 inch, its quite big. I haven't got that kit, as I only found out about it after I had bought my kit.
I have seen it working when I went to see Craig at polarbrite. the good thing is the camera is wireless and has a range of 100metres. and the camera only uses a square 9v battery.
Rob where are you based?

Hi Matt,

Yes I had another look at the pictures and decided the Vac couldn't sit on the trolley!! I was being a bit dim then!!

I am in Malvern, Worcestershire.

Was your CCTV kit cheaper or do you think its best to go for their survey kit?
