Probably already said on the other thread but what is the definition of a successful type?
My guess is that Slumpy wanted answers from the big players like JV Price etc.
Unfortunately the post gets littered with the usual CIU wannabees who pretend to be the big guys but still work on the tools.

Many of us think ourselves as successful in that we have plenty of work and earn a good living but that's not what Slumpy was after. He is after all already ahead of several of us already - second van (brand new) employees etc.
And of course an electric reel  ;)

Hi window washers,

What makes a success in window cleaning is someone doing better than me.This doesn't mean anyone doing worse is a failure.

Of course someone with a happy marriage, great kids, and lots of friends, has to be a success too, but this is not relevant to business.(unless we use that charm and charisma)

A lot of statements on the other thread began- i am a success because.....- but that wasn't what was asked.Generally a success has a bigger business, and has done it in a relatively short time.

Dave i only have one wc van, the other is for m/trading.I do have three electric reels.(this gives me an improbably good hourly rate, but of course someone with two vans would still 'do' me.(just ;D)  )

;D you know what I mean. Your doing well by the sound of things but seem unsure of the next step - getting off the tools and delegating the work.
Seems to me you can then leave the physical side but then enter the route of mental stress. I'm not sure which is worse.
When I was younger money was everything these days I don't care so much and therefore don't have the drive to trample to the top of the compost heap.

That's a good one. Clive's looking at the higher end of the spectrum but i would consider something like this as being a very successful stage of my life. Happy days.
