Ive got some houses on my round that are 3 storey little squares and i charge £15 for, but i have not done them for about 4 months. They take too long for the money i am charging them, but i dont want another window cleaner being called in on my patch.  I know im going to have to do them next week, but am embarrased as i  have not been for so long.  Anyone got any advice?, Or any excuses as in health and safety and ive now got wfp to do them.

You've almost explained yourself already.

1. Pole will make'em easy as pie. So assuming you want them, say this as you hand them A5 sized explanation leaflet of wfp:-

2. Mrs Georgian, Please forgive me, I'm dreadfully sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I know it's been about three months (minimise length of time) but new health and safety legislation coming out of europe means that I have had to invest in wfp - it's absolutely brilliant! - but I wanted to be fully trained before I called - I know I should have contacted you sooner but I thought I'd be around a bit sooner and time ran away with me.

Alright if I start at the front (point at top floor) or (jerk thumb at rear of property ;D) shall I do the back first? (alternative option, rather than a say no question)

How do I dream this stuff up? There are days when I'm good and there are days when I'm brilliant.... today I'm neither!
It's a game of three halves!

I know this is a bit naughty , the lord dont like liars , i replied to your last post about this GiftedK , i had the same dilema , not been to 8 houses in 3 months because of little panes , thats when i had the idea to lie through my teeth !
I told them i had fallen off my ladder and injured my leg , and thats the reason for the jump to wfp also , they all felt sorry for me and let me get on with it ,and i tell you what , i never got them done so fast as with the wfp , and dont worry about the pvc struts falling off , none of mine did .

We had the same problem with 16 houses in a street where they are terraced houses but big one's that are two floors at the front with arkward basement windows and three floors at the back.

To start with a few years back they were our pride and joy and a good money earner at £10 each and a full day's exhausting work for 3 of us.

Now it's a lot of really hard work for little return compared to other work we haveand as a result, we havn't been back there for months now.

Last month I sent everyone a letter stating that new rules from Brussels had placed a cloud over ladder usage regarding the backs and the second floor and that we needed to find out more hence the reason we hadn't been round to do there windows.

A few days back I sent another letter stating that we can no longer justify using ladders over and above the first floor and that we will be going over to using WFP etc etc. I included a letter with an SAE for them to fill out saying yes or no.

I also including that prices would be increasing to £20 a house and that I'm sorry but as a business we cannot afford to carry on at the same price.

I did word it more diplomatically than I've written here but the above is basically what I wrote.

I am expecting most to decline. I hope.

Cheers

Just off on a bit of a tangent here Ross - when you finally persuade your mates to go wfp what do you reckon about using a coffin shaped tank for your purified water?

In fact if you wanted to be subtle you could store it in the underneath compartment of your hearse where the spare box goes and pull it out on a gurney as a trolley system.

You heard it here from Malc G first!

Hi Malc

Our hearse is full of coffin shaped bits to put things in that the other two constantly buy.

As for a coffin shaped water container, that will be discussed on Monday. Cheers for that idea.

We've also now used our home made WFP sytem (courtesy of Matts web site) and I can't say I'm impressed apart for those high up arkward windows, conservatory roofs and the like.

My neck is in a learning process. I hope it learns soon as for 3 weeks now I've had neck acke. And my arms still ache also. And my legs. In fact, I ache all over.

The problem we now have is rebuilding or redesigning the interior of the hearse to fit everything in so as it's all easy to get at.

I wonder how much real coffin costs as water proofing it will be easy?

With regards my above posting where we had a street that was not worth the time and effort for the financial gain and so had been forgotten, much to my surprise, today we had three 'yes's' and one 'no' sent back to us.

It'll be interesting to see how many others reply and what they decide.

Cheers

Hi Gifted - I switched my townies from ladders to wfp and it is great - bit fiddley round the backs as they don't have rear access (raised gardens and no gates)
but a good earner -
I just told them it was a necessary switch and also would not be doing balconies (some of them have two - which I find a bit greedy)
That speeded things up even more ;)
