hi

I've been onto some web sites and there all giving different sums - some are saying 24 days and some are saying 28 days. thought I would check on here and see what holidays everyone else is giving there part time sfaff.

Paul

P.s - 5 weeks seems alot for a part timer who only works 2hrs a day 5 days aweek.

I used to work for a big soft drinks firm and it was 5 weeks - it was the same if I was full time and part time. I you work 1 hour a week its 5 weeks which is 5 hours holiday pay

The holiday entitlement is 28 days to include Bank Holidays (Next year it will be 9 Bank holidays).  The way to figure it out is by how many hours a week they work.  If they work 10 hours a week then your total for the year would be 56 hours to include bank holidays and if you work that out at full time equivalent then it is only 7 days.  But you only pay them holiday for what they would have normally worked.  So if they take a week off they get 10 hours pay.  If they work different hours each day then you will have to average their weekly hours by month or year and compute their holidays like that.  I hope this helps

part timers are entitled to the same as full timers which means 20 days + 8 B/Holidays They have to accrue their holidays at 1.66 days per full month from their date of starting so if they only started with you 2 months ago then that would be 2 x 1.66 x how many hours theynormally work.
