Hi Doug, We use the SX-12 and SX-7, Both great tools and very easy to use :D, Price wise it can vary from £3 - £5 sq/mtr depending on condition of tiles/grout and amount of grout, IE: smaller tiles equal more grout ;D, Hope that helps

Funny enough we done a video of some tile and grout cleaning we done on Friday, Check it out if you like ;), You can get some great results :)

Hi Gary

Thanks for that, your video looks impressive.

If it's as easy as it looks then I think I'll get an SX-12 and go from there.

I was thinking of buying a Rotovac 360i but don't want a jack of all trades tool, what do you think?

Cheers

Doug

Gary nothing on that video makes it specific to you, anyone could steal it. You need to go into YouTube edit and put some captions or annotation onto it with your company name.

I think the small print of YouTube allows anyone to download and use any video and by uploading a video you agree to this.

We purchased ours from Woodbridge Commercials, Cant remember how much as it was a few years ago now, The video shows the easy bit ::) most of the hard work is brushing in the solution and doing the grout lines with the grout brush, If you havent got one of these they are well worth in investment.

I cant comment on the 360i as ive never used one but the SX-12 is so easy to use id highly recommend it :D

No Doug have not tried the Envirodri as a grout brush, We use these and plenty of man power, Expensive for what they are but they work great.

It was only a quick video so not to bothered, Want to get some proper ones sorted for the new website so it was just a test run but as the results were good I thought id stick it up, Thanks for the tip tho and ill be sure to do this on the next one  :)

I use one of these for tile and grout, its very thin and flimsy,
i put it on rotary with a normal pad in between.
It has 1 cm grooves in it, i find it gets into the grout lines better,
exspensive for what it is, but has made me a good few quid
and its still going strong.

you can also get it in grey, supposedley very good for cpt aggitation.

The ones we use are certainly not flimsy, Can put your whole weight behind it and get right into the grout :) Although I do only weigh just over 10 stone ;D, We do however use the rotary on big open areas 8)

Gary,
Nice video.
What had you done to the floor prior to rinsing it with the SX-12, chemical wise, I mean or is it just straight high pressure doing the cleaning?
Is it a TM providing the pressure and vac?
What's the market for this kind of cleaning - domestic -commercial and how do you go about marketing it?
Sorry for all the questions.

Simon

No worries Simon ill do my best to help :D

Floor was pre-treated with a acid based cleaner, Moped on and left to dwell, Grout lines were done with a grout brush then extracted with the TM (our new one ;D) at high pressure and with plenty of heat.

The market is very good for this type of cleaning, We've been doing it for approx 5years now and have found our best marketing technique is just doing a free sample on the back-end of a CC job, Once the customer see's the outcome its a guaranteed job, They all seem to think their hard floors dont get dirty ???, Its also very enjoyable to do as its easier than CC and some of the results are amazing ;)
