hi all just wondering if anyone can help me price up a block of flats.  Theres a total of 642 panes of glass
over 6 floors, it goes like;

Ground    190   panes of glass
First         87 
second    207 
third        64
fourth      30
fith           12

and internal  52

This is to be done twice a year.
Any help will be gratefully appreciated as i need to tell him today. also how much if they have it more regularly ?

How many of you are going to do the job?

Twice a year what you have to remember is if you cost low you could pick up more work monthly in residential than you would earn from this one job.
Dont quote to low always go high then if you dont get it you didnt have it to begin with.

Its going to be done with wfp, and there will be two men on the job. I hear people say charge £1.50 per window on commercial, which i presume is per bay.  THis was awkward as some are single panes and some are 4 -6 per bay.

I clean a lot of flats on my own i charge a daily rate not by the window.

Remember they could always ask someone with a squegee and platform at a cost of 500 plus or safer wfp.

Also do you live in a wealthy area because im sure i would not be able to earn that kinda money in this small market town in lincolnshire.

Hi phillip not at all.
I live in oxfordshire so i suppose with the house prices here i suppose it could be considered a wealthy area.Also i am in a very large commercial town in between birmingham and london
i live in a town which is very largley populated with olot of 3-4 storie flats.I am also lucky in a respect that most of the f1 teams are situated in this area and i have to ssay this sometimes its who you know not what you know.
Yes a good day would be £500-800 a excellent day is 10 hours at £100 per hour a bad day esidential £200 and i honestly tell you i do £200 per day.I dont do small detatched houses anymore.I dont do one offs,once a years,my terms are within 7 days and everyone has been ok with these terms.

well mate i would do it on my own as fast (doing a good jod of course)as posible if it took a day fantastic bring out the champain 2 days great 3 days i would be pleased 4 days ok...... you get the idea
i priced it quickly on a calculator fist time so it wasn't quet right. here is how i would price it up properly.
Ground    190 @ 50p =£95
First         87  @ 60p= £52.20
second    207 @ 80p= £165.60
third        64 @ £1 = £64
fourth      30@ £2 = £60
fith           12@ £3 = £38
Sub-Total=£474.80 Round up to £480
Sorry didnt notice internal before
and internal  52@£1=52
Grand total= £532 Round up to £550

That is how i would do it, however easyclean will have more experience on big jobs, my biggest job only takes two hours. I would say to remember that your gonna have to think about how much water you will need, how long it takes you to refill, can you refill on site. parking, traffic will it be better to clean at certain times of the day? etc like easy clean says dont price too low as you will regret it but if you price too high and dont get it youv lost nothing. About the water if you can get a varistream pump controller 700ltrs now lasts me easily without filling up a 65 flats on three floors

I agree with easyclean just used my variestream for the first time today had put off buying one cos i thought it was only good for stopping pressure switch from burning out. how wrong i was, it saves water, give you more precise control over your water flow i think it is a must.

Easyclean well done i bet its taken alot of hard work to get where you are how long have you been going? ive been going for three years now and started off pricing low because i was given some bad advice, used to average about £70-80 a day and a good day was £100 but over this year ive improved the quality of my work given away the bad work and put prices up now i very rarely do under £100 a day. Hope to bulid up my work but i dont think i would be able to get to your level around here.But ill try.

sorry another question for easyclean hows your merlin going what your tds in and out (before resin). and how many litres of tap water do you think it is using to make 1 litre pure. Also what made you choose this over a 4040. sorry to ask so many questions but you must be doing something right to be on that kinda money, so i can learn from you but only if i ask questions.

I have a 40x40 R/o and it will fill 1000ltr 3 hours, my tap water is 234tds before r/o and after r/o 0.02.

The waste in 1 to 1, so 1ltr pure and 1ltr waste.

2/3 of a 25kg bag of resin lasted 9 months.

thanks roy i keep asking those question about the 4040 im very close to getting one but its alot of money, but it will be money well spent i just need to give myself a push in the right direction.

Phillip you would not dissapointed with a large R/O.

Also the merlin was not around when I bought mine, they are cheaper and quick but I dont think they drop tds as low as the 4x40.

i know ive found out that merlin has a high tds. the problem is im still more trad than wfp but aim to change this so currently getting that size of ro would be like using a sledge hamer to kill an ant. however im getting married soon so part of me thinks to get the ro now while i still have money to spare.
All this thinkings making my head hurt.
