NON PAYERS
« on: July 23, 2010, 12:07:27 pm »
Hey,

Is there a section on here for people who do not pay as I would like to warn any other domestic cleaners out there of a non payer in chelmsford.

The forum would risk getting sued. Best thing with a non payer is go and write a rude word in weedkiller on their front lawn.

Lets hear about it anyway, it might save somebody else getting the same treatment

These type are just scum bags. Happened to me the other week, bounced cheque, bank told me it had been stopped, they she had no intention of paying me, hence not accepting them any more. I did explain to her that if payment was not received within 7 days it will cost her more than the £50 that i charged her ;) - Blimey those Discovery 3 tyres are damn expensive for a set ;)

for legal reasons i cant get into it on here too much. i spoke to my solicitor and he advised me that i have to write two letters roughly a week apart chasing for the monies. then if no reply, or should i say if the matter hasnt been resolved, meaning i still havent got my money, i can then apply to the county court to get it.

he wanted an anstronomical fee, but found i could do this myself online using the directgov site.

however, this seemed a lot of hard work.... so i simply drove up there in the evening and gave a little knock on the door. and got my money from a very embarressed husband who had no idea what was going on.

my philisophy is......  you asked for the service, you pay for the service. or... if you dont pay for your electric, you get cut off... and CCJ'd

hahaha

I allways use Thomas Higgins for my debt collection, never let me down yet just google their website and its easy as pie.

Cost about £2.80 for a 'letter before action' which is written on your local County Court headed paper, that usually terrifies them into paying you within a week or so!

Mate of mine is an undertaker and believe it or not had about £35k of bad debts that he couldnt collect, put him in touch with the above and got most of it back within a matter of weeks.

They looked at his terms and conditions and pointed out that he didnt have an interest clause on them for late payment, so that was rectified on their recommendation. Brilliant set up and very helpful too.
