Rainwater Harvesting/ Downpipe Dividers
« on: July 21, 2010, 11:39:45 am »
How many of you fella`s like myself use rainwater dividers on
Your down pipes to direct the flow into your containers?
I`m finding on mine there`s a goodly amount that goes straight
Down the pipe and out at the bottom.
I use Marley, just wondered, are they meant for just diverting say
90 per cent ?
I know they are only plastic, but I recon I`ve missed hundereds of
Liters this last 2 or 3 days of rain or so.Granted I`ve harvested and
Caught much much more but !
I`ve cleaned it out twice now and everything looks oaky.
I`m a bit `peeved`cos`I can catch and harvest the rain at 000ppm.
To 005ppm.Anything above I just drain away.
Thanks for replies.

Out of interest do you use a professional rainwater system bought from a specialist company or do you just use normal water butts and then presumably pump it out of them,i'm trying to learn more about rainwater harvesting.
Cheers

It`s my own set-up,D.I.Y. if ya like.Just finished altering it
Around a little,as the weather`s not been brilliant.
Also did`nt get many constructive answers to my original
Post.
It`s `cats and dogs` throwing it down.
Caught and `harvested`a load in last 16 hours. All at 000ppm
To 005ppm.mostly at 001ppm.
I must have been wasting a load of rain if the last 16 hours is
Anything to go by.
