bought a tranny van. wfp question
« on: July 10, 2010, 12:02:49 pm »
bought a tranny van, and buying a reach & wash this week.

The floor is already ply-lined, can i leave this plylining down, if i paint over it, using rubber paint, or protecter coat?

cheers

I ripped all mine up an then painted it but I don't think it matters really as it still covers the wood. Don't forget to go up the side about 2 to 3 inches as well. I used 4 ltrs to do mine an that's the lwb version

The reason to rip flor ply up is because you will always have water on it, if there is any holes in the paint it will soak water like a sponge and then rot the floor and as lined you will not see it.

I would take ply off floor and then paint

take it up and paint with a waterproof non slip floor paint, your ply will rot and stink.

Leave the ply where it is, it won't rot if you seal it properly.

a pin hole is all it takes Andy, you cant seal a problem you dont know is there.

Rip it up there is no need for it.

take up the ply for sure. Even protectacote struggles to stay stuck to damp ply.
