Friend has a brand new one, 6 stage 300 gpd, and he has the same pressure and tap tds as me, ... and my ro produces pure water  at 00.0 or 00.2

My friends is at 0.19 after ro..

All new! so should he be producing the same tds?

Perhaps they are inferior filters,

What do you think lads?

Are you talking about just the RO or RO and DI?
after my RO it reads 016, after the DI it reads 000

As I have never heard of an RO on its own reading 000.

Well i have never used resin, i have a 10" resin thing, which came with the ro, but its not attached and i would not know where to put it anyway

the ro-man has always produced 00.00 without resin.

My tap TDS reads 300, I have a ROman 500 GPD RO with an aquatec booster pump, after the RO my water reads 016, then it passes through my 6.9 litre DI vessel where it is 'polished' at this stage it reads 000

I can confirm with my own eyes, that my fried has an incoming TDS of 60ppm into his twin RO (facelift system) and a water pressure of 100+ PSI he has 0ppm going into his vehicle tank and thats before his DI bottles (which he has never had to renew with resin)!!
My own is a pumped 80 PSI and a tds of 130 and it fills my vehicle tank with water at a tds of 9ppm, through as HF5 membrane.

Did you use the same TDS meter to test both?

My roman type 300gpd, which I've had for 5 years and several membrane changes - depending on the ingoing TDS which is about 350 - is usually between 008 and 014 and after about 9 months it creeps up and I replace the membranes at about 022 after a year or so.

Pressure is about 75/80 psi.

I use about 1250L a week of pure (so 2500 goes to waste).
It's a game of three halves!

from the information given to me by ro-man when i bought mine theres a chemical on the membrane which can take a while to wash away , this will result in tds being slow to drop when i first bought mine tds was around 12 for a couple of days before it went down to 4 which it never went below , not all ro units will bring water down to 000 , i just set my mates unit up for him last week and his tds as been slow to fall .

I got a 300gpd from pure freedom. tested this morning, 248 going in 005 coming out. Put it through resin went up to 012ppm, obvoiusly resin is shot. will not bother changing it though as i understand 005 is fine to work with. I have a aquatech booster pump on my system aswell.

RO-MAN use quality American made membranes while the others use inferior chinese made ones hence the difference in TDS out.

I am no fan of RO-MAN but their membranes are good.
