dealing with a lot of nuggets lately;

customers who

1,won't answer the door
2,say 'come back my wife will pay - if I do she'll be cross' ?!
3,'yeh I wanted em cleaned but I didn't say today' after I've cleaned the front and try to go round the back (she did!)
4,'mums at work' (she's always at work  :P) Q, 'when's she off next?' A, 'she works all the time mister'
5, still wont answer the door or phone  >:(

comes with the territory I know, on the way to building a quality round, still grinds away at you. Ditch'em and move on though eh.

Go to the nicer areas mate, honestly.
I rarely have this sort of thing happen now, because I avoid the skanky areas where it has happened.
Even if you're travelling a bit further it's worth it, and obviously the prices are better too. :)

In my experience it's the nicer areas this usually happens!

some of these folks are not the type you'd think would be like it. I'm gonna start to issue a few of the famous Ian Lancaster letters. That should shake'em up a bit. I can't bring myself to write money off.

she told me this over a mobile. I rang the number she gave me (her partners) who gave me her number. She - nut job - was hiding in the house (must have been as the patio doors were open when I peered over the fence)  ::)

A few weeks ago I had two ex-customers approach me in one day to try to get me to clean.  With one of them the last clean was so long ago I couldn't remember why I had dropped them.  When I was shredding old records from the 90s a few weeks ago, there were very few addresses that I currently clean.  I reckon I could make two half reasonable rounds out of work I've dropped in the last 18 years.  The trouble is that the rounds would not be viable due to an excess of bad payers, not todays etc.

yes it is. ive only been going 2 years and due to a forgiving nature id got a big wodge of wasters on board. now im snowed under with work i suddenly dropped the wasters but as yet none have rang me to find out why theyve been missed out.  Quite a few are loud mouth types,handy with there fists? im going to  keep it to just a 1 liner of casual "couldnt care less " speech and hope that works !

I feel a bit the same,haven't quite sussed out the 'gut feeling' thing. ie. people who seem ok, dare I say nice, suddenly turn into wierdos. I'm still gathering new work but seem to be almost standing still in terms of the overall volume of business as I'm dropping some off the back all the time.

just say due to the standard of my work i have picked up bigger and better paid jobs so had to drop the smaller prices if they arent too bad u could always pass on the work to newer cleaners
