I know this as been asked many many many many many many many many many times!

please could you answer again for me!

What do you charge per sqft?

My minimum is 25p! Do you think this is to much??

So for a 12' x 12' small lounge, you're looking at £36 but obviously your minimum charge needs to be somewhere around £45-£60 ish (Here goes, another can of worms opened )

It all really depends , on so many issuesbut I would guess your somewhere in the middle with that price..... Why don't you do a poll? (I think it's been done before..... But what the hey!!!!!)

Your 25p is generally ok - some will charge a bit more, some a bit less.
To test it out...... if now you are getting say 8 out of every 10 jobs that come along, up you price say to 30p. If your conversion rates fall then maybe you gone too far. If they stay the same then your ok and try a bit more.
However, even if your conversion rate falls, you may still be earning the same over less jobs - and theres nowt wrong with that.

Like Colin says, you be best perhaps with a minimum charge just in case someone says can you clean my downstairs loo carpet and you go in at 25 - 30 p per sq foot - err, £3.60 please - no, I dont think so.

Must admit i had that scenario a few years ago downstairs w/c £5
because i did her neighbours for that as well as doing the rest of her house but i'd broken the quote down! and she saw it!

How much to charge for anything is not something any of us can tell you.
The price you charge has to be arrived at by working out your own overheads and expenses which should then give you a break-even point per week. From that you can work out how much you need to charge per hour, day, sq ft.
