Mondeo Ford

Im sure this will get moved but i wanted to post here as it would get most views...

I have an 03 zetec mondeo and yesterday it wouldnt start with no warning signs whatsoever, i have charged battery all night and still nothing and the electrics are acting weird?

Any ideas i know its a bit vague but im pretty useles with cars, need to get a garage tommorow but cant drive it??

bit of a headache! it has a roof rack if that makes it part of a window cleaning topic :)

Hit the starter motor with a hammer or rock it back and forth whilst in gear if ur a big lad then try to see if it will start

I second that , failing that , check the earthing leads , might be bad contacts , if that fails take the same hammer as mentioned earlier and muller the damned thing , youll feel so much better , and wish you still had your MK1 Fester innit  ;D

i know what you mean i have had alot of big things go, exhaust, clutch , now whatever this is, all in about a year!! its cost me more than the thing is worth now!!  only done 92000 not alot for a big diesel surely!

bad erth or postv , but take erth off furst  ,and clean the leads up ,the resun for eath furst is abs will not work if posy furst ,and put posy back furst,

i hav 1999 one diesel never had any probs 180000 0n and stil starts first time summer or winter

I also had a 1999 diesel 200.000 miles on the clock when I sold it and never any problems, started first time every time.

are you not going to buy a van for all your wfp equipment?

im loving it most days now!only another week of first cleans to do and back round again!!

first week was a nightmare!

i do miss my mondeo though as ive got to go in my girlfriends rust bucket whenever more than two of us go out!!! ::) ::) ;D ;D

sounds like just a dodgy connection on the battery. fords often have several wires all with a connection onto  the terminals. id try wiggling the wires near the battery

thanks for all the advice guys buti cant work it out , i have no tools or anything to sort it out so got a mechanic coming later today , hopefully it will be okay !

NEW BATTERY IT WAS

sorry shouting :)

apparently it was holding no charge and when i tried jumping it it didnt work as the leads were too thin to carry the ampage as it is a diesel it needs alot to turn it over

well it would of been cheap if id have found out myself and just got one but had to call auto electrician so had his call out as well as battery fitted plus vat :(

£105 .00

still car is working and booked in for full service at weekend :) it needs it !
