i am gradually moving away from wc and concentrating on builders  and eot  cleaning the 2 client bases being construction/building companies and estate and letting agents
what do people find is the best form of marketing

leafleting sites and offices
letter of introduction

Research the best person to contact, call them by way of intro and ask them if they are happy to receive a formal intro letter.

If yes then write the letter to sell your company to them.

Follow up call to check that they've received your letter.

Chase, chase and then chase drawings etc.

This is a hard nut to crack and it will take years to establish a sound customer base, and then you'll constantly struggle with margins, late payments, cashflow, staffing etc.

Good luck  :)

hi there

lets look at this in a more positive light, asive cracked it once and in the process of cracking it again for both commercial and residential builders.

make sure that your staff are cscs first of all, and that u have yout UTR for  the CIS.

ive wonder commercial sites recently, and have irons in fire for residential housebuilders,

yes it can be a pain, short notice call offs for cleans, trades not caring etc, etc,

but as long as you areconfident and know what you are doing the site managers will work with you.

your biggest issue is to get the opportunity to tender for the work, and that can take a while if you dont go about it properly.

site calls can help, you can get the qs name and will also be told whehter the tender has been awarded or not, the size of the site, the number of units, and a sneak at the build program.

you then need to speak to the QS about the site or sites and start to build the relationship.

regards

martin

Another possible method is networking - building and property companies are often represented on networking clubs. There are many networking clubs so be sure to research the correct one for you before you commit.
