Spent last 2 days dropping leaflets and so far nowt !! 

They will be getting knocked next week but beginning to think forget the leaflets and just go to door knocking and not bother to use leaflets.

One thing I have noticed though is previously when I do get the odd call off a leaflet they seem very nervous about calling from a leaflet once I get to see them eye to eye theyre all nice and happy.

Like I say I think just leaflets are a no no ... they seem to want to see who theyre dealing with.

trying an experiment tomorrow just going to drive to somewhere I have no customers and havent leafleted and go straight into the door knocking and see what happens.

Onwards and upwards !

i have found people dont ring straight away with flyers, your giving up far to easy, i get calls from flyers i've dropped months ago,

also could be that you dont have the best flyer to begin with maybe?

dont just stick to a certain type of property post to all rich and poor

door knocked 3 tims this week - 65 houses in all -  20 were out 35 said no, but got a leaflet 10 new custy's.

total canvassing time 5 hrs.

Built half a round on leaflets, they do work, but deliver them and forget about them !

you will get calls, but they trickle in,

door knock!!....seriously, you will feel good when you pick up 5 new ones in an hour or so.

knock on a saturday between 10 - 6  see what u get,  if no ones in then put a leaflet through

me and me mate door knocked twice for 4-5 hours this week and picked up 45 new custies n that was daytime hours 10.30-4.30 prob cuda done better working later use ya leaflet as part of ya ammunition i do pointing out what other services i do.

Try putting a picture of your ugly mug on the leaflets,.. you'll be surprised the difference it makes.

I wonder if having a picture of your face on a leaflet makes any real difference, has you said. People like to know who you are dealing with.

I have had a frustrating 8 days,. Lost my van keys, managed to get some new ones yesterday. An expereince I will not be repeating.
My return of leaflets is around 1%. But that is advertising more than one cleaning service.

My whole round was started from leaflets alone...no doorknocking at all....but for this you'll need to put out 10's of thousands of leaflets ....my average hit rate was about 0.5%. I'm sure you'll get a much better success rate knocking and if they are out, note down the address and leaflet then revisit that same house say 3 days later.

Again with leaflets...when you have a house in a street...releaflet that street say every 3 months.

For me leafleting is my preferred method....I always keep a couple of hundred leaflets in the van...and just throw them through letter-boxes when the mood suits me.

Leaflets will work, but is slow build up and at 1% return not that effective and how compact will your work be ?   

at least if you knock a street all your work will be in that street.

We have been flyering the same 18000 homes for the last year we will keep at till we have a full round and then some,ian if you have the money whack at 10000 you will soon get there quicker than just knocking

Saying my return is 1%, but 7 times out of 10 that will be for enough service apart from window cleaning, even if I have one side of the leaflet to just window cleaning.

I only tried door knocking once and found the people who said yes are the people who tend to muck you about at a later date.  Also I do not like people knocking on my door whiule eating, bathing kids or watching football so decided on leaflets.

I have nearly got a full round from dropping leaflets, word of mouth and just being seen.  A lot of it I fell into an area with only one crap window cleaner.

mostly i knock, yes it's hard - the ole butterflies in the stomach but it works well and not noticed any 'mucking' around by people ( i do charge a 1st clean premium )

it is easier now i truely believe in myself and services and any no's know longer worry me.

i got someone to drop 1000 leaflets in a village a few miles away, six months ago - not a single bite, i then knocked several of these roads 2 weeks ago and picked up half a dozen - some of who said ' oh been looking for a windy for years  : :

Thanks for all the tips fellas ... only problem if I put my mugshot on the leaflet it would scare the dogs and cats and make all the small children cry  ... seriously though not a bad idea !

Went to a new area today knocked for about 2 hours and got 2 defo .. 1 let u know and 1 more defo but I know hes going to be a messer I rekon ... posted a flyer if they were out so may get a few more.
