2 Poles....sorry
« on: July 02, 2010, 05:28:27 pm »
...same old question.

Have one pole running from varistream and 100 psi pump (running fine)..................and using a backpack as second pole at the moment.

Would like to use a second reel and hose. I know the ideal situation is another varistream and pump.........but what is the minimum equipment that could be purchased to run two poles. I obviously don't want to burn out anything if poss..just wondered if there was an alternative.................maybe just another pump with flow valve on pole ???...not connected to varistream at all.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Fieldsy

Thanks Sensai.

Any problems with differeing lengths of hose out at same time.....regarding pressure etc..... (if that makes sense)

Nice cheap option  ;) Like that  ;D

No mate, well not that noticable anyway, you can tell if the other chap has unplugged cause the pressure builds up slightly but if your working together you should be un plugging roughly at same time anywho. Check this vid out i made it a while ago, with an even cheaper option of the varistream or the like with a tap return back to tank, youll need to send it to full screen.

You return the water back to the tank so its still pumping out full but not under any strain where as if you just put a tap inline the pump would still be trying to push through, therefore strain and pump breaking etc

You wont need to do this with the tap because you have a varistream in place but you can see the poles working at near enough same flow yeh.

All you need is T piece... £2 odd, and turn your flow up a little to compensate for running 2 poles.  :)

Hi Fieldsy

Good to see you the other day. Just a few thoughts on this.

1. 1 pump before both reels. Will work but the flow might be a little slow depending on the pump and also if you have a breakdown your stuffed.

2 Have another pump without the flow controller but a valve fitted to the negative side of the pump. You save money on the controller but will the battery be able to cope with 2 pumps one of which is going full whack. You might end up having to get a separate battery and then be spending more than if you had got a flow controller.

3. Extra pump and controller extra cash up front but hopefully you can run the lot off of a single battery. And if you have a break down you still have a pump and a back pack.

Simon.
