Hi All

Whats a good method/chemical for cleaning up a conservatory plastic and general window frames?

I got a job Saturady that I haven't seen but need to clean on arrival if the quote is excepted, So I don't know how bad they are so I'll expect the worst but need to make sure I goy everything I need just in case.

Any advice welcome.

depends on what your service is -  if its a clean then TFR will do fine.

if your offering full upvc restoration then i think you had better research things quick.
make sure anything you put on the plastic is safe to do so.

I have got some non caustic tfr and have used it before but it doesn't get rid of those black water looking stains?.

fenwicks caravan cleaner from halfords might do the trick i got my  tfr of ebay £17.00 for 25 litres undiluted

now, now,  lets not throw out our dummy's.

when i quote for a conny clean thats what i do clean it - custy is told is not restoration and that some ingrained dirt could possible remain.

they are charged accordingly to size/access etc..

restoring plastic is a totally different thing with the price in the hundreds - most people would not be prepared to shell
out that sort of dosh. ( in my experience )

however using TFR and WFP does remove 100% of crud in 7 out of 10 conny's and out of the other 3 whats left is usually small areas where the plastic is stained - usually the roof spines from pollution/lichen or from the rubber seals.


it all depends on what the customer wants and is willing to pay for.

CIF  on a sopping wet coarse rag works great i have found / plenty of elbow grease and keep the rag wet  . wipe dry with a big scrimcloth and VOILA ! alls shiney
