help needed for 1000litre IBC

just got a 1000litre IBC tank as static storage,seller said it ws clean.turns out it has a terrible smell and a glue like adhevsive inside.markings are removed from outside so i dont know what it is.i have tried bleach and hydro chloric but still a residue.anyone have similar probs/suggestions

Rinse it out with tap water, put some pure in it, leave it for a couple of days then check the TDS.  If it's still the same as it was when you put it in, just ignore what was in before and carry on.

If it increases then you've got probs ::)

Heavy degreasant and leave to soak. (not too long tho as can eat plastic) I also used a hot pressure washer to clean it out
