Newbie advice
« on: August 28, 2005, 07:01:05 pm »
Im thinking of setting up a business(bet youve heard this a hundred times) doing outside hard surfaces, wpf, patios,
graffiti  signs etc etc, Im not interested in carpets.I like the idea of what hydrodynamix do with the truck mount but wont touch a franchise, I also like the look of Hydrotech but it seems expensive they say they can supply work but take 20% of every invoice, is there enough work through winter. anybody out there can give advice I would appreciate it, especially if you work with Hydrotech past or present. I know I could buy gear cheaper, marketing is my main problem .I just finished with a network in another industry, to many promises no backup
Many thanks in advance

Hi Dave,

I would stay away from any form of franchising if I was use, as you have said, all promises, but nothing happens. I have seen to many people go bankrupt due to franchising and even more, work for years and make very little money. The only people who win are the master franchise owners.

ive no doubt the equipment is good.  but wot about the backup and help when starting out, I sent hydrotech an e-mail on 28th Aug asking for a random selection of operators who I could speak to along with several other questions as of yet I have not heard from them, perhaps they are sulking over a couple of observations I posted , or have they something to hide ??????

must admit i've not had any help from them as of yet, but they are supposed tobe coming down my way to help get some work,i'll leave a post on here if they do or don't.
i hav found them very helpful on most thing's and i no they hav a lot of big contract's, they are about to be the only approved cleaning system by marshells, which should be a big help.
if u have any more questions about them then i don't mind answering them.

Hi  revive-a-drive, I purchased the hydrotech full unit. Since found out thro postings on here the di kit might be good for where there based but not where i and prob you are based (I'm in bedfordshire really chalky water av tds 580)
from what i've seen the merlin ro man unit looks best for your van set-up.
Gonna get myself one when i keep my customers long enough!!

As for the work they promise i don't think its too far away hopefully

hi kiral1404
i looked at the merlin but felt, the tds will still be abit coming from it,so i got the ro-man's 200gpd for £200, i filter it in a static tank, then pump to van,i took off the red clinder and put a eletric pump there instead.
don't no what u think off hyodrotech, but think i've wasted a lot off money the system u can buy for half the price, the mane reson i got the kit from them was the fact they say they will help out in getting work, they keep promising to come down but never do,
i'll be intrested in how your getting on and what u think off them
