Pilkington created slefcleaning glass a few years ago. I quoted a house the other day which had such glass in its frames. After the normal chat it turns out that yes water does run off but other factors stop it working like bee pooh on the window, bird muck also dust etc so don't worry about it too much...

In fact one customer cancelled because they were having this special self clean glass. I was called back after a few months cause it dont work.Back in the late 80's a glass building in our industrial area was built using self clean glass. It was even positioned on a slite slant so that the rain would just run off. It didnt work. Yes the rain would run off but dirt was left behind. I would see the cherry pickers there when they realised that the glass needed to be cleaned. It must have cost then a fortune.Steve
