Have to admit I surprised when he told me, I thought hanging off a rope all day would bring in more.

Although saying that his thoughts on level 3 wernt what youve just quoted.

I think he needs to re-assess what he thinks he'll earn in that case.  ;D

They do tend to only work 6 hours a day so the rates are good, many years ago it used to be better but like any trade the more people that do it the cheaper it gets.

The water in those buckets must be filthy the time you get to the bottom of a drop.

Especially when they need a pee and a poo on the way down!

What are those boys on a day Charlie?

My neighbour does abseiling work, he gets £90 a day. He's level 1.

Thats shocking!

Thats about right for a level 1 as that is still someone training and need supervision at all times top level 3 guys can get £150 a day

I'm astonished it's so low but presumably you are referring to a PAYE employee who has paid holidays etc?  Even so, it still sounds a bit low.

Yes I agree, £150 a day for being a paye window cleaner, not too bad,  but thats not just window cleaning that is specialist window cleaning. Give them a pay rise...

£150 a day.

Thats much lower than I would have thought.  I'm surprised anyone does it, given that you can easily earn that on domestics with waterfed pole with no risk and no irata training.

No way!.

Hanging on the end of a rope in the middle of winter, 20 stories up, freezing ur crackers off with a north east wind blowing, no where to hide and no break to warm yourself up til youve finished another 20 stories.

I know what Id rather be doing.

Not knocking Charlie, (his rates seem to equate with what this neighbour of mine was talking about on level 1) just would have thought the rate would be higher for that kind of malarky.
